OUR TAKE
With references to Photorealism and Realism, Michael Boshart creates scenes that appear to fade backgrounds of time and space. The brief moment of his images allude to the wonder and resonance of what is fleeting and what might be captured. Upon meeting Michael Boshart, and getting to know his work, there is little room for pretense or contrived persona, which often go into creating the prestige of many contemporary fine artists. Boshart’s work speaks for itself; and that’s all he cares about:
Maybe one day i will hire a publicist to create Michael Boshart the artist. [Until] then I will just continue to create art and hope it finds the right collector on its own merit.
BIO
Michael Boshart is a professional artist from Southern California. Having worked in many different mediums, he finds himself drawn most strongly to oils. He works mainly from life as a realist, but tends to add and detract from time to time, shaping the moods of each piece. His work focuses mostly on the human figure–as it explores the moods and emotions that drive every one of us. Through travel, he has gained first hand knowledge of some of the great paintings of the past, and incorporates fragments of every technique into his own work. He also believes as he was taught, that in order to paint one must first be able to draw.
